This article is about the bridge on Toby's branch line. You may be looking for the bridge in Australia.

The Rickety Old Bridge was a bridge near Lower Arlesburgh which carried Toby's Branch Line over a gorge.

History

When Toby decided to take his old line to rescue Farmer McColl's sheep, he had to cross the bridge during a blizzard.[1]

Many years later, the bridge collapsed after Toby and Henrietta crossed it, trapping them both on the other side, until Ruth made a replacement for it: her Walking Bridge.[2]

Appearances

Trivia

  • The bridge's model would later be reused for Babbling Brook Bridge.
  • Despite being shown to cross Hackenbeck Stream on former Railway Consultant Sam Wilkinson's 2014 map of Sodor, there is no river present in either of its appearances.
  • When the bridge returned in full CGI, the gorge underneath it became considerably flatter to account for the Walking Bridge.
